In celebration of the 50th anniversary of its watch business, CASIO is proud to introduce its first-ever ring watch. This innovative digital timepiece combines timekeeping practicality with a playful twist made possible through advanced metal forming technology and the development of a miniaturised module.
The watch’s case, back, and ring band are precision-crafted using MIM (Metal Injection Moulding), a technique that injects powdered metal into a mould to create the intricate full-metal ring design. Even fine details like the band holes are faithfully reproduced at a ring-size scale. Special glass bonding creates outstanding air tightness, for reliable water resistance under normal daily use.
The rings size is 22 (US: 10.5 / EU: U), with an inner diameter of 20 mm and a circumference of 62.8 mm. Two size-adjustment spacers for conversion to size 19 (inner diameter: 19 mm) or size 16 (inner diameter: 18 mm) are also included. The size of the watch module of the ring watch is approximately 1/10 that of a standard wristwatch module. Combined with a small button battery, this allows for a fully functional digital watch with three buttons, all fitted within the compact ring configuration. A 7-segment LCD supports hour, minute, second, month, date, day, dual time, and stopwatch display functions.
Preset the time of your choice, and the ring watch gives off a subtle, flashing light — not only handy for keeping time, but also a poetic nod to the fleeting twinkle of time. “Ring Pipe”: The beginning of CASIO innovation CASIO’s legacy of innovation got its start with the “Ring Pipe,” which was developed by Kashio Seisakujo, the predecessor to CASIO Computer Co., Ltd. Launched in the immediate post-war period in 1946, the innovative Ring Pipe became a major hit, laying the financial foundation for CASIO’s future calculator development.
The new CASIO RING WATCH reflects this same spirit of innovation and creativity, creating a timepiece that embodies both the CASIO’s origins as well as its ongoing commitment to groundbreaking design.
